About Bear Creek Tallow
I was raised on a cattle ranch in the Bootheel of New Mexico—the beautiful, rugged southwest corner of the state. My husband grew up working cattle on ranches across New Mexico, and together we were fortunate to raise our sons with that same way of life.
Today, we make our home on a small property in Gila, New Mexico, where we still raise a few steers each year to feed our family. We process and package our own animals, so we know exactly where the fat and suet used in my tallow products come from.
I’m always learning more about tallow and its incredible benefits. It’s a slow, rewarding craft—rendering the fat takes days, but seeing it become pure, white tallow feels wonderful every time.
Now that I’m retired, I spend most of my days at home doing what I love—turning ranch-raised fat into nourishing, handmade tallow. My husband is also retired, though he still finds work when he can—he’s never been one to sit still!
